WELCOME TO OUR WEEKLY ROUNDUP AND FRIDAYS DOM PROOFS
Brexit and coronavirus still dominate the headlines with the North East of England entering new 10pm bar and restaurant curfew times and no mixing with our families or neighbours (but we can still meet them at the pub etc.). There were a few high volatility data releases stirring the pot but volumes, especially within our currency pairs remain stubbornly low with the apparent lack of some of the big market movers.
WEEKLY POINTS TOTAL: Including Friday, there was an overall maximum potential of 2,685 points from from specific Max Day Trading time/price level entries from the UK morning sessions. A 10% target would have yielded a minimum of 268 points for the week.
FRIDAY
Positive UK economic data at 7am helped our 2 Dom long GBP pairs and put a spanner in the other. Even although the GBP/AUD was short, the Doms were still strong enough to initially overpower the data to give us one early trade but to be fair we would have avoided this pair.
There was a strange strengthening of the JPY Index from the UK open which gave us a net short of the GBP/JPY come the US open but still some good long trades at our usual times.
The Dom long EUR/AUD yielded some good points but the strong euro hampered the Dom long German Dax until later in the morning. All in all, volumes are still way down for the time of year.
Friday saw a reasonable maximum potential of 470 points from specific Max Day Trading time/price level entries from the UK morning session alone, with a minimum target of just 30.
A 10% target of this figure would have yielded 47 net points from specific Max Day Trading time/price level entries, with many additional opportunities in the US morning (UK afternoon) and US afternoon (UK evening) sessions.

There were some large swings in our Dom long GBP pairs today with up-and-coming interest rate data at midday and also the conformation that the North East of England and other parts of the country are facing new coronavirus restrictions from midnight tonight. Our early trades were unaffected with some good trades and points available.
The EUR/AUD started the morning Dom short with conflicting ICS Balances (weak & weak) and expected CPI data at 10am. Good points were had and the weak euro strengthened the Dom short German Dax but not before some very good trades at our usual times.
Thursday saw another decent maximum potential of 620 points from specific Max Day Trading time/price level entries from the UK morning session alone, with a minimum target of just 30.
A 10% target of this figure would have yielded 62 net points from specific Max Day Trading time/price level entries, with many additional opportunities in the US morning (UK afternoon) and US afternoon (UK evening) sessions.

UK economic data boosted our already Dom long GBP pairs from from 7am, which wasn’t too bad a thing. The difference being our entry techniques are different for a PNA (post news aftermath) than a Jath, with more aggressive profit taking soon after. Regardless, all GBP pairs did well, despite some poor ICS Balances.
The Dom short EUR/AUD overpowered positive EU data and did well but low currency volumes are still keeping a lid on point gains.
The Dom long German Dax was up to its usual tricks with some large manic movements. Again, low volumes are amplifying the movements on our charts with far fewer points than appears.
Wednesday saw another reasonable maximum potential of 565 points from specific Max Day Trading time/price level entries from the UK morning session alone, with a minimum target of just 30.
A 10% target of this figure would have yielded 56 net points from specific Max Day Trading time/price level entries, with many additional opportunities in the US morning (UK afternoon) and US afternoon (UK evening) sessions.

Fundamentals played a big part today, with high volatility UK and European announcements. 2 of our GBP pairs, the GBP/JPY & GBP/AUD were officially Dom short, with the data putting a spanner in the works from the earlier slot of 7am.
There were still some decent early trades against the data at our usual times but we knew it wasn’t wise to trade any later than mid morning. However the Dom long GBP/USD fared much better with some very good points available.
The Dom short EUR/AUD did surprisingly well with good points in the short direction, with the Doms overpowering positive EU data.
Last but not least our Dom short Dax, which looked more like a roller-coaster today with an 8am speech and positive data at 10am. Still some nice trades to be had.
Tuesday saw another reasonable maximum potential of 570 points from specific Max Day Trading time/price level entries from the UK morning session alone, with a minimum target of just 30.
A 10% target of this figure would have yielded 57 net points from specific Max Day Trading time/price level entries, with many additional opportunities in the US morning (UK afternoon) and US afternoon (UK evening) sessions.

A terrible day for our GBP pairs on very confusing Brexit fundamentals and spikes from Friday that distorted our all important Dom 3. These pairs were almost flat at the UK open, showing very little strength in direction with far from ideal ICS Balances.
To be fair, the Dom 3’s were tilting down slightly and this formed the final conclusion. Confidence remained fairly high in the short direction on an early article regarding a ratification of the Brexit withdrawal bill affecting the Irish border. This is being voted upon as I type, with a lot of controversy attached. Any amendments would be against the EU agreement which would normally see the pound plummet. We were informed that the amendments would pass but in a later article, the pound was gaining strength through the expectation of an ‘orderly’ exit and deal. A total contradiction and most certainly ‘popcorn time’ for the final vote. Despite all this, there were still a couple of early trades in each.
The EUR/AUD was a straightforward Dom long with some very good trades available but again, low currency volumes are restricting points.
The German Dax started the day Dom long but again, fundamentals crept in and we still had our usual good but manic points.
Monday saw a reasonable potential of 460 points from specific Max Day Trading time/price level entries from the UK morning session alone, with a minimum target of just 30.
A 10% target of this figure would have yielded 46 net points from specific Max Day Trading time/price level entries, with many additional opportunities in the US morning (UK afternoon) and US afternoon (UK evening) sessions.
